The Cardinals have announced the signing of sixth-round CB Jorrick Calvin to a four-year contract. Terms were not disclosed for the second member of Arizona's draft class to agree to contract terms. Seventh-round TE Jim Dray became the first member Thursday.
The 201st overall selection in the 2010 draft, Calvin started 12-of-13 games played in his only season with Troy as a junior in 2008. The 5-11, 184-pounder recorded 76 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, nine passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. He also served as the team's kickoff returner and gained 25.7 yards per return (27 returns for 693 yards) which ranked first in the Sun Belt Conference.
While Calvin has flashed the athletic skills necessary to play cornerback at the pro level in the Cardinals' OTAs, the consensus is that it's unlikely he will make much of an impact in his rookie campaign.
