One position where the Texans have accumulated solid depth is cornerback, where rookie Kareem Jackson and second-year Glover Quin are the clear starters. Beyond Jackson and Quin, second-year CB Brice McCain is the likely nickel back, with veteran Jacques Reeves figuring as the fourth corner. McCain was solid as a rookie, appearing in all 16 games and starting one contest. Reeves, 27, has 35 career starts to his credit and is a solid reserve. Rookie Sherrick McManis, a fifth-round pick from Northwestern, will compete for playing time as a reserve. The Texans also can turn to third-year CB Antwaun Molden, who has not been able to stay healthy but has very good size, strength and speed; Fred Bennett, a fourth-year pro and former starter; and second-year pro Mark Parson, who was on the Texans' roster for six games last season but didn't play. The competition for playing time beyond the starters — and for the final roster spots beyond the expected top four cornerbacks — is one to watch.
