The Browns and rookie WR Carlton Mitchell, a sixth-round pick from South Florida, have agreed on a four-year contract, the Dayton Daily News reported Wednesday.
Mitchell (6-3, 215) caught 40 passes for 706 yards and four TDs in 2009 at South Florida. Mitchell, 22, declared for the NFL draft after his junior season.
Mitchell, personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote in PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, has the potential to "become a solid No. 3 receiver in an offense that allows him to work crossers and vertical routes."
