The Vikings announced Tuesday that they have waived rookie free-agent QB R.J. Archer.

Archer, a William & Mary product, had been getting more snaps during organized team activities than veteran backup Sage Rosenfels, leading some observers to speculate that Rosenfels might be traded to open a spot for Archer.
