Aaron Schobel has played his entire nine-year career with the Bills, but it doesn't appear that he'll play another down for the franchise. From what we hear, barring a surprising change of heart, the 32-year-old's time in Buffalo is over. Contemplating retirement ever since the 2009 campaign ended, Schobel said that he would be open to returning to the team closer to the beginning of the season and that the decision was in the Bills' hands. Since the club never gave the TCU product any indication that it didn't want him, word is that Buffalo might have denied Schobel's request to skip offseason activities and training camp. With a new 3-4 defense being installed, the Bills might have felt that Schobel, who would have to switch from defensive end to outside linebacker, would not be sufficiently up to speed with the scheme by Week One. It's also possible that the sack artist could be angling for a trade to a Texas team, as he makes his home there.
