The Dolphins have announced they signed fourth-round pick A.J. Edds.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports a source said Edds' deal is for four years and is worth $2.27 million.

Edds took snaps with the second-team defense at inside linebacker during OTAs.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, PFW personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Edds is a "smart, steady player who at worst should help in nickel situations and contribute on special teams."
