The Saints announced Monday that they have released veteran DE Bobby McCray and waived CB Glenn Sharpe.
McCray, a six-year veteran, played two seasons with the Saints after signing as an unrestricted free agent in 2008. The 28-year-old played in 32 games, starting eight, and made 59 tackles with 7½ sacks, three passes batted down and one forced fumble. He played the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Jaguars.
Sharpe, a first-year player from the University of Miami, was signed to the Saints' practice squad in January and spent the postseason there before participating in the club's offseason program. He was with the Falcons' practice squad for most of 2008 and ’09 after signing with Atlanta as an undrafted free agent.
WR Roy Hall also was released from the Reserve/Injured list with an injury settlement.
