The Ravens have agreed with rookie DT Arthur Jones on a three-year contract, the club announced Monday. Jones is a fifth-round pick from Syracuse.
Jones (6-3, 305) notched 19 tackles in nine games in 2009 before having season-ending surgery on his left knee. PFW personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki, writing in PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, cited Jones' "(very) good size with a powerful lower body and exceptionally long arms" as positives but also wrote that Jones "(coasts) on natural talent."
Jones, 24, is most likely to vie for a backup role on the Ravens' defensive line in his first NFL season.
