The Falcons signed OG Mike Johnson, one of their third-round picks in the 2010 draft, on Saturday, the club announced.

Johnson, 23, started 41 consecutive games for Alabama.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, PFW personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Johnson "(comes) off the ball quickly and gets into blocks" and has "(good) instincts and feel for the game." However, Nawrocki noted that Johnson "(has) short arms and needs to get stronger — does not play with pop or power in his hands" and "(can) be outleveraged and controlled by massive pluggers."

The Falcons have signed five of their seven draft picks. OLB Sean Weatherspoon (first round) and WR Kerry Meier (fifth round) are unsigned.
