The Falcons announced they have signed fourth-round pick Joe Hawley and fifth-rounder Dominique Franks.

Hawley adds depth on the interior offensive line and Franks, a cornerback, could contribute immediately as a returner.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Hawley is a "smart, tough, competitive short-area blocker" who could "compete for a starting job down the line."

Of Franks, Nawrocki wrote that he "brings value as a return man, but timid football temperament, overall inconsistency and mental deficiencies cannot be overlooked."

Atlanta also waived four players. Undrafted rookies CB Dominique Daniels, LS Justin Drescher, PK Garrett Lindholm and Trey Bryant were each waived.
