Titans OLB Gerald McRath will be suspended for the first four games of the 2010 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, multiple media outlets reported Monday. Head coach Jeff Fisher confirmed the suspension, according to The (Nashville) Tennessean.
The 6-3, 231-pound McRath showed potential as a rookie in 2009, notching 47 tackles and appearing in all 16 games (five starts). McRath, who has good speed, was expected to have a good shot at starting at one of the Titans' OLB spots.
McRath will miss home games vs. Oakland (Week One), Pittsburgh (Week Two) and Denver (Week Four) as well as the Titans' Week Three game at the Giants. He can participate in training camp and preseason games.
