Saints RB Pierre Thomas has signed his restricted free-agent tender, GM Mickey Loomis said Monday, but Thomas' agent says his client remains unhappy with his contract situation.
Thomas signed the one-year, $1.684 million tender to avoid the possibility of having the offer reduced Tuesday, but agent Lamont Smith says Thomas will not attend any of the team's remaining voluntary OTAs this week. Smith said the Saints have been unwilling to negotiate a long-term deal with his client.
Thomas' 2009 base salary was $460,000, and the Saints could have reduced their offer for 2010 to $506,000, or 110 percent of his '09 salary, if he hadn't signed the tender Monday.
