Broncos OLB Elvis Dumervil signed his restricted free-agent tender one day before the team could have reduced its offer.

Dumervil's one-year contract is for $3.168 million. The offer would have been reduced to $630,000 had the tender remained unsigned beyond June 15.

The fifth-year veteran wants a long-term contract offer from the Broncos, but it appears the two sides have yet to come close to an agreement. Dumervil's agent and the team are said to be discussing a new contract.

Dumervil led the league in sacks last season with 17 and is seeking a deal that will make him one of the league's highest-paid outside linebackers.

Denver tendered Dumervil at the highest level possible to help prevent other interested teams from sending him an offer sheet.
