The Redskins made a series of roster moves Wednesday, most notably signing WR Mike Furrey.
Furrey played with the Browns last season, catching 23 passes for 170 yards as a receiver and making 14 tackles as a defensive back. In 2006, he had a career season with the Lions, catching 98 passes for 1,086 yards and six touchdowns.
The Redskins also cut CB Marcus McCauley, TE Sean Ryan, DL Antoine Holmes and LB Alvin Bowen.
McCauley joined the team late last season, but he couldn’t dent a deep CB position. A blocking tight end, Ryan had been signed as a free agent in March but likely was deemed unnecessary when the Redskins drafted Dennis Morris.
