Bowe nearly out of chances in K.C.

During their year and a half in Kansas City, GM Scott Pioli and head coach Todd Haley haven't exactly been known for their patience, demoting or releasing a number of players for sometimes minor offenses. But maybe the most egregious offender is that time span, WR Dwayne Bowe, has mostly managed to escape their wrath.

In the Pioli-Haley tenure alone, Bowe showed up overweight for last season's OTAs, displayed a lackadaisical attitude during training camp, was suspended four games in 2009 for taking a league-banned diuretic and tied for the NFL lead in dropped passes with 11 a year after ranking second in the league with 13 drops. Through it all, he was able to get nothing more than a slap on wrist, but we hear that the organization's patience has just about run out after Bowe's latest incident.

The fourth-year wideout recently told ESPN The Magazine that his teammates flew in women they met online from around the country to stay with them at the team hotel prior to a 2007 game in San Diego. Bowe later went on to say that he had been misquoted, but the damage already had been done in the Chiefs' locker room.

Although Haley handled the matter behind closed doors and said that Bowe's focus was back on football following their chat, we hear that the LSU product has used up all of his chances in K.C. The Chiefs' regime obviously sees enough potential in him that they haven't pulled the plug yet, but another misstep by Bowe and he finally could be sent packing.
