The Ravens announced Tuesday that they have brought back George Kokinis to the organization.

Kokinis, who served 13 years in the Ravens' personnel department (director of pro personnel, 2003-08; assistant director of pro personnel, 2000-02; Northeast area scout, 1996-99), will fill the role of senior personnel assistant for the club.

"It's good to have George back," GM Ozzie Newsome stated on the Ravens' Web site. "He will help evaluate college and pro players, plus work with Pat [Moriarty, the Ravens' vice president of football administration].

"George knows the game, understands what it takes to win, and he will help us find players who will help us win. He has done that before for us."

Kokinis left the Ravens' organization to become the Browns' GM but was in Cleveland for only a few months before being dismissed in November.

Also, the Ravens announced that former pro scout Mark Azevedo was promoted to area scout for the Southeast, Southwest and Midwest regions.
