Eagles FS Marlin Jackson ruptured the Achilles tendon in his right leg at OTAs on Tuesday. Although the team didn't estimate the recovery time Jackson will need, this type of injury is usually season-ending.
Jackson lined up with the first-team defense at free safety in the morning session. He pulled up lame while running without contact and was helped off the field. He was carted away from the practice facility.
The sixth-year veteran was attempting to come back from a torn ACL in his left knee suffered in practice early last November when he was playing for the Colts. In 2008, his season ended after seven games with a torn ACL in his right knee. He signed a two-year free-agent deal with the Eagles this offseason.
Rookie Nate Allen moved up from the second to first team when Jackson left.
