The acquisition of OG Justin Smiley from the Dolphins is a sign that the club is concerned about the position. GM Gene Smith wanted to address the interior of the offensive line in the draft, but couldn't match value with any of the team's six picks. Smiley, who fell out of favor in Miami because of a chronic shoulder injury, agreed to restructure his contract before joining the Jaguars, making him a low-risk investment. Jacksonville is hopeful the shoulder won't be an issue and Smiley can earn a starting job at left guard. The player who figures to feel the most pressure from this trade is OLG Vince Manuwai. Manuwai started 16 games in '09, but did not look like the same player after tearing his ACL in '08. We hear Manuwai has been dealing with knee and rib injuries this offseason, and was recently demoted to the second team. Veteran OG Kynan Forney has been working with the first team, and will battle Smiley and Manuwai for the job.
