DE Bobby McCray started all three playoff games at left end for the Saints last season after the usual starter, Charles Grant, suffered a torn triceps in Week 17, but McCray likely will fill a pass-rush specialist role next season. New Orleans cut Grant after the season and signed veteran free agents Alex Brown and Jimmy Wilkerson to help fill the void, setting up a crowd of players to compete for snaps opposite DRE Will Smith. McCray, who was signed to be a pass-rush specialist prior to the 2008 season, has made just 7½ sacks in 32 games with the Saints and was bothered by a back injury for much of '09. Sources say there is a chance he could find himself on the roster bubble in training camp, but the two newcomers were not brought in specifically to replace McCray. Brown's specialty is stopping the run and Wilkerson could move inside to tackle in passing situations.
