Jolly could be on the ropes with Packers

It appears there could be a lot more than what meets the eye behind the Packers' decision to name 2009 first-rounder B.J. Raji and recently re-signed Ryan Pickett as the new starters at nose tackle and left end, respectively. We hear the curious line shuffling might be predicated as much as anything on the increasingly murky status of '09 starting DLE Johnny Jolly, whose future hangs in the balance as he awaits trial on felony drug possession charges. Claims that Jolly might have violated terms of his probation have some insiders thinking the team seriously could be considering releasing the restricted free agent, even though he is coming off a very solid '09 season. Even if the Packers opt to keep Jolly, who has been a no-show at voluntary offseason workouts, we hear the prospect of a possibly lengthy league suspension looms large. An intriguing x-factor at left end is former first-rounder Justin Harrell, who is saying his well-documented back problems are no longer an issue.
