It has been widely assumed that first-round draft pick Earl Thomas and seventh-year veteran Jordan Babineaux will be the Seahawks' starting free safety and strong safety, respectively, next season. But don't be shocked if Lawyer Milloy, who has played more than twice as long at the pro level as Babineaux, begins the season as the starting strong safety and serves as a mentor for Thomas the same way veteran free-agent addition Ben Hamilton is being counted on to show first-round OLT Russell Okung the ropes at left guard. "He very well could end up starting," one team insider said of Milloy, who recently re-upped for one more season. "He's taken great care of himself, and even if he doesn't start, he should figure in the mix in both base and nickel formations." Just as importantly, we hear Milloy, a four-time Pro Bowler who won a Super Bowl with New England, quickly established himself as one of the team's most valuable locker room leaders.
