Page's status in K.C. could affect Berry

Although a deal still appears likely, S Jarrad Page is certainly playing hard to get with the Chiefs. Yet to sign his restricted free-agent tender, Page was the lone member of the club not at May's OTAs, forcing some personnel to be moved around in the secondary. From what we hear, word around Kansas City is that Page did not get along well with head coach Todd Haley and other higher-ups in the organization last season, which is likely the reason he has held off on signing his second-round tender. While it's possible the veteran's agent could be working to get him a trade out of K.C., the probable scenario remains him returning to the Chiefs under a one-year contract. Considering the secondary's lack of depth and the fact that Page is an above-average player, he would almost surely slide back into his starting job at free safety, allowing 2010 first-round draft pick Eric Berry to line up at strong safety, where the team wants him to play.
