By apparently planning to wait until the last minute of a June 15 deadline to sign his qualifying contract offer of $1.759 million, we hear restricted free agent Deuce Lutui could face a real challenge hanging on to his starting role at right guard. "They really are pretty deep up the middle," one team insider said. They seem satisfied for now with Reggie Wells moving (from left guard) to right guard, and they really like the way Rex Hadnot played in Cleveland." But with both starting guards at present (newcomer Alan Faneca on the left side and Wells on the right side) not under contract after the 2010 season, we hear it's rather unlikely the Cardinals would consider unloading Lutui, who is coming off a solid season in which he steadily improved. Also on the O-line front, it appears promising but unproven third-year pro Brandon Keith has the edge on Jeremy Bridges for the starting job at right tackle. "They've been very high on him since the day they drafted him," the insider said of Keith.
