Former Saints security director Geoffrey Santini has withdrawn his lawsuit against the organization after the club's lawyers sent the matter to an arbitration judge.

The Associated Press reports Santini's decision to dismiss the lawsuit stated that the team's attorneys waited more than a week after the lawsuit was filed before informing Santini that they planned on invoking the arbitration clause in his contract.

Santini said the Saints tried to cover up the theft and improper distribution of Vicodin pills at the team's facility.

Going to arbitration blocks both sides from publicly discussing the case. Santini gave his first interview since filing the lawsuit on April 30 to Gannett news outlets earlier this week.
