A trade in which the Rams would send OT Alex Barron to the Cowboys for LB Bobby Carpenter is expected to be finalized Monday, according to NFL Network.

If completed, the deal would give Dallas a player (Barron) who could challenge for the starting OLT spot, which was vacated when the team released Flozell Adams a month ago.

Meanwhile, Carpenter, despite having been a first-round draft choice (18th overall) in 2006, has started only three games in four years with the Cowboys.
