Steelers WR Limas Sweed injured his Achilles tendon Sunday in the final day of a weekend minicamp, and his status will be determined in the next few days.
"I don't know where Limas stands at this point, because he just suffered what appears to be an Achilles injury," Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters after the final minicamp practice. "Of course, I will have more information in regards to that, probably as early as (Monday). That probably takes precedence as we sit here today."
A second-round draft pick in 2008, Sweed missed the final three games of last season and was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list for an "undisclosed illness," which he and the team have refused to elaborate on.
In two seasons, Sweed has only seven catches for 69 yards, including only one reception in nine games last season.
