The Buccaneers released six players Monday, remodeling their roster after drafting nine players and signing 12 undrafted free agents over the weekend.

Tampa Bay released FB B.J. Askew, DT Chris Hovan, OG Shawn Murphy, P Sam Paulescu, OG Arron Sears and CB Stoney Woodson.

Sears continues to deal with personal issues, which prevented him from playing last season. It appeared Hovan, who had started 79-of-80 games for the Bucs over the past five seasons, would be expendable after Tampa Bay spent a second-round pick on DT Brian Price, who will step in to play Hovan's nose tackle position.
