The Texans agreed to terms with UFA TE Michael Gaines on a one-year contract, NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reported via his Twitter feed on Friday.

Gaines, 30, started seven games for the Browns last season, catching five passes for 59 yards and a touchdown. He will compete for a reserve role with the Texans, who drafted Wisconsin TE Garrett Graham and Pittsburgh TE Dorin Dickerson on Saturday. Dickerson will move to wide receiver.
