One of my favorite players from the Senior Bowl was Tyson Alualu.

All week he shined, looking like the Energizer Bunny with dreadlocks. He is an interior rusher, but he can line up at end, as he did at Cal. Jaguars fans probably will love this guy, even if he's not a 10-sack guy.

Alualu's energy will rub off on every other defender and open things up for everyone else around him. Is he your typical No. 10 pick in the draft? Oh no. And my guess is that when the right offer to move down wasn't there (although look what San Diego gave up to get Ryan Mathews, wow), the pick was in for GM Gene Smith.

But he has few major weaknesses and will give that defensive front a different look than it has had. I'll throw water on this notion: Alualu was not going to be there in Round Two, and the Jags didn't have a No. 2 anyway.

The more I think about it, the more I like the pick.
