The Vikings found CB help on the eve of the draft.
The team signed ninth-year CB Lito Sheppard, who was cut by the Jets this offseason.
“Lito is a great guy who fits what we are looking for,” Vikings head coach Brad Childress said. “He's the type of person and player we value at the cornerback position. Coach (Leslie) Frazier and I have seen him up close and personal and we know what he can bring to our team on and off the field. We look forward to him being a Viking."
Sheppard started nine games a year ago but was benched and moved into a nickel role. He has a chance to be an early starter for the Vikings if the rehab of CB Cedric Griffin is slow coming off ACL surgery.
