Following in the footsteps of fellow Colts starting DT Daniel Muir, restricted free agent Antonio Johnson has signed his one-year tender of $1.644 million. Johnson’s signing leaves the Colts with two restricted free agents not under contract with the 2010 NFL draft fast approaching — starting FS Antoine Bethea and OT Charlie Johnson.
Antonio Johnson, who was signed by the Colts off the Titans’ practice squad midway through the 2008 season, started all 15 regular-season games in which he played and all three playoff games in ’09. Big and powerful, he provided an underrated run-stuffing presence this past season with 34 tackles and one sack.
