Mark Sanchez has a talented, but troubled, new target to work with in the recently acquired Santonio Holmes, but the two likely won't be able to get on the field to practice together until training camp, as Sanchez's recovery from knee surgery could keep him out of OTAs and minicamps. The practice time the two will share in camp is going to be crucial, since once the preseason is complete, Holmes will begin serving a four-game suspension and will join the team after Week Four. Sources say Sanchez is making progress in his recovery from the procedure on his left knee. Word is he has spent time working with QB coach Matt Cavanaugh and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer at team headquarters during his rehab and appears committed to picking up where he left off after a solid postseason performance. With an upgraded receiving corps, Sanchez is expected to improve after playing poorly for a large chunk of his rookie season.
