The league confirmed reports that WR Santonio Holmes, who was traded to the Jets Sunday night, will be suspended for the first four regular-season games in 2010.

Holmes was suspended for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He can participate in all offseason activities and preseason games, but will have to leave the club after the final preseason game.

The Jets acquired Holmes from the Steelers for a fifth-round draft pick in next week's draft.
