Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno had a productive rookie season, but he didn't perform up to the expectations some had for him and gained only 3.8 yards per carry. His fellow back, Correll Buckhalter, recently said Moreno hit a wall late in the year and will benefit from having a full offseason to prepare after holding out for most of training camp in 2009. We're told Moreno's struggles late didn't have anything to do with conditioning. Observers say he was in good shape. Playing more games than he did during a college season simply took its toll. That said, Moreno's workload could be heftier in 2010. While the Broncos still have the same primary backs that handled close to the entire workload last season, they're not as deep at the position after cutting LaMont Jordan, trading Peyton Hillis and signing J.J. Arrington, who missed all of 2009 to recover from knee surgery.
