The Saints made their first significant free-agent addition of the offseason Wednesday.
Reports indicate New Orleans has agreed to terms with DE Alex Brown, who was released by the Bears after eight seasons in Chicago, on a two-year deal.
The Saints released DE Charles Grant earlier this offseason and needed to add depth at the position. Brown is not an elite pass rusher, but he's a reliable veteran who can contribute in a rotational role.
Brown made six sacks for the second consecutive season in 2009.
