Saints DT Anthony Hargrove has signed his restricted free-agent tender and will return to the team in 2010, the club announced Monday. The one-year deal is worth $1.226 million.
There were rumors that Hargrove, who started six games and made five sacks last season, might be traded to the Lions after he signed the tender, but Saints executive VP-GM Mickey Loomis said in a team release that Hargrove would be back in New Orleans next season.
Hargrove signed with the Saints last offseason after serving a yearlong suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy for a third time.
