Packers restricted free-agent OG-C Jason Spitz signed his second-round tender Monday and will begin workouts with the team on Tuesday.
Spitz, who will earn $1.76 million next season, is expected to compete with fellow RFA Daryn Colledge and possibly second-year pro T.J. Lang for the starting OLG job.
Spitz started off last season as the starting center but struggled, in part due to a herniated lumbar disc that eventually required surgery Nov. 11. He has made a complete recovery from the surgery and should be able to fully participate in team workouts. Spitz has made 47 starts at the three interior O-line positions. Colledge has not yet signed his second-round tender.
