The Bears made it official on Thursday, releasing DE Alex Brown in a long-rumored move.
Brown, a fourth-round pick by the Bears in the 2002 draft, has appeared in 127 career games with 107 starts.
He totaled 483 tackles, 43½ sacks, 55 tackles for losses, five interceptions, 16 forced fumbles, 11 fumble recoveries and three blocked kicks during his eight-year career.
