The Texans signed MLB DeMeco Ryans to a six-year contract on Tuesday, multiple media outlets reported.
According to ESPN.com, Ryans' contract is worth $48 million, with $21.75 million guaranteed. Ryans will receive $26.3 million in the first three years of the deal, according to ESPN.com.
A second-round pick in the 2006 draft, Ryans, 25, has started 64 consecutive games and has twice been named to the Pro Bowl, including last season, when he notched 123 tackles and two sacks. He had been a restricted free agent.
