QB job remains open in Washington

Mike Shanahan has said that no starting quarterback will be named until training camp, leaving the team's plans very much up in the air. With Jason Campbell and Rex Grossman the only current QBs likely to make the roster — Richard Bartel and Colt Brennan are not believed to be favorites to make the team — the Redskins are likely to draft another quarterback. And based on the visits the team has had with draft prospects, it's very possible the team will spend an early pick, either their first- or second-rounder, on one. Shanahan has been alternately praiseful and noncommittal to Campbell since taking the job but very well could turn to him eventually. It will be interesting to see how Campbell not only handles being in a training-camp battle for the first time but also how he responds to having a former Super Bowl starter and — likely — a rookie gunning for his job.
