The Colts officially announced a substantial makeover of the coaching staff, but specifics on the input and authority of the coaches remain sketchy, with head coach Jim Caldwell yet to go into detail about the changes. Caldwell did indicate at the NFL coaches' breakfast at the league meetings in Orlando that Clyde Christensen, who was promoted from assistant head coach/wide receivers to offensive coordinator, will be relaying plays to Peyton Manning instead of Tom Moore, who had been handling that duty during Manning's entire career. "It's all guesswork, but the sense is that Tom will still be there as a security blanket in a lot of ways," said one team insider of Moore, who now holds the title of senior offensive assistant. "Clyde did call some third-down plays on occasion last year." Early indications are that Christensen could significantly increase the usage of a power running attack in 2010.
