The Chiefs announced Thursday that ILB Derrick Johnson and OL Ikechuku Ndukwe have signed their restricted free agent tenders.

Johnson, 27, was the former leader of the Chiefs' defense but fell out of favor last season, starting just three games and compiling a career-low 37 tackles. He did begin to see more time late in the year, though, and returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a Week 17 win over the Broncos. A first-round pick in 2005, Johnson is expected to be in the running for a starting spot next to Demorrio Williams in '10. His RFA tender was a one-year, $2.6 million contract.

Ndukwe, 27, was acquired by the Chiefs from Miami prior to the '09 season. He was a rotational player for K.C., playing in 12 games and starting three. Able to play both guard and tackle, he will remain a versatile backup this season. His RFA tender was a one-year, $1.7 million deal.
