While the Cardinals believe both newly acquired FS Kerry Rhodes and OLB Joey Porter should help bolster a defense that left a lot to be desired in the playoffs, we hear there's no denying the team's grave concern over the gaping hole in the middle of the defense as a result of ILB Karlos Dansby's departure. "Even though he was never more than a Pro Bowl alternate, the guy never came off the field, and it's very hard to replace that," said one team insider of Dansby, who has moved on to Miami. Making matters a bit dicier is the team's uncertain situation at nose tackle, with '09 starter Bryan Robinson and underachieving backup Gabe Watson both being free agents, and Robinson turning 36 on June 22. In addition, Porter’s arrest for allegedly driving under the influence, battery of a police officer and resisting arrest one week after signing with the Cardinals couldn’t be a more ill-timed red flag from a player who was being counted on to be an influential team leader.
