The Ravens have agreed to a two-year deal with UFA DL Cory Redding, the club announced Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 292-pound Redding played 15 games for the Seahawks last season, starting three. He notched 20 tackles and two sacks. Seattle acquired him in a trade with Detroit last March, sending OLB Julian Peterson to the Lions in exchange.
Redding, 29, played his first six seasons with the Lions, where he played both end and tackle and flashed impressive ability at times, never more so than in 2006, when he notched eight sacks. Redding can play end when the Ravens use a 3-4 front and can slide inside to tackle when the team uses a four-man line. The Ravens were seeking to bolster their DL depth after Justin Bannan and Dwan Edwards departed in free agency.
