The Steelers signed LB Larry Foote on Monday, according to NFL.com. Foote, a key part of two Super Bowl-winning defenses for Pittsburgh, signed a three-year, $9.3 million deal with a $1.8 million singing bonus, according to the report.
Foote, whom the Steelers released last May, started 14 games for Detroit last season, making 99 tackles, defending four passes and notching two sacks. The 29-year-old Foote, who is strong against the run, improves the Steelers' ILB depth.
Foote has played eight NFL seasons, with his first seven (2002-08) with the Steelers. He is the second ex-Steeler to re-sign with Pittsburgh this offseason. The Steelers re-signed WR Antwaan Randle El, who threw a TD pass in their victory in Super Bowl XL, last week.
