Chris Simms' tenure with the Broncos has come to an end after one season, according to a Denver Post report.
The Broncos released Simms one day after acquiring Brady Quinn from the Browns.
Simms struggled when he received limited playing time in 2009. The eighth-year veteran completed 5-of-17 passes for 23 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception. He also lost a fumble.
Denver is expected to head into next season with Kyle Orton as the starter under center. He will be backed up by Quinn and second-year veteran Tom Brandstater.
