Agent Tom Condon confirmed Sunday night that his client, RB LaDainian Tomlinson, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Jets, a signing that will be announced by the team Monday.
Tomlinson, who was released by the Chargers on Feb. 22, visited Minnesota and New York before choosing the Jets.
The future Hall of Famer will team with second-year RB Shonn Greene in the Jets' backfield, replacing Thomas Jones, who was released and later signed with the Chiefs.
Tomlinson, who turns 31 in June, has seen his skills diminish the past two seasons, though he still is considered a strong pass catcher, a solid blocker in pass protection and has a nose for the goal line, with 12 touchdowns last season and double-digit rushing scores each of his nine NFL seasons.
