Free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson made a stop at Jets headquarters Friday as he met with team officials to discuss joining the club.

Tomlinson visited the Vikings on Thursday, but left without agreeing to a contract.

The Jets released their leading rusher in 2009, Thomas Jones, last week and Jones signed with the Chiefs, leaving a vacancy in the team's backfield. Tomlinson would share carries with Shonn Greene and RFA Leon Washington, who will likely be back with the Jets next season, in 2010.

Tomlinson will turn 31 in June and he averaged a career-low 3.3 yards per carry in ’09.
