The Titans reached agreement with CB Rod Hood on a new contract, the club announced Friday. Terms were not disclosed.

Hood, 28, intercepted three passes in six games for Tennessee last season. The Titans signed him in October after injuries thinned their secondary depth. Hood has also played with the Eagles (2003-06) and Cardinals (2007-08). He had stints with Cleveland and Chicago last season but was released by both clubs before the start of the regular season.

At the least, Hood figures to provide depth at cornerback, and he could start, particularly if Nick Harper, an unrestricted free agent, isn't re-signed.

Hood has 14 career interceptions. He was an unrestricted free agent.
