The Chiefs announced Thursday that they have signed free-agent WR Jerheme Urban. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Urban, 29, spent the past three seasons with the Cardinals but became an unrestricted free agent when the team chose not to make a qualifying offer to him as a restricted free agent.

Last season Urban had 18 catches for 186 yards. His most productive season came in '08, when he had 34-448-4. Prior to joining Arizona, Urban played for the Seahawks for three years and spent part of the '06 season on the Cowboys' practice squad. For his career, the undrafted Trinity (Tex.) product has played in 47 games, starting six, and has 87 receptions for 1,231 yards and seven TDs.

In Kansas City, Urban is reunited with Todd Haley, who was the wideout's offensive coordinator in Arizona before leaving to become the Chiefs' head coach. Given the team's lack of receiving depth, Urban has a realistic chance to make the roster as a No. 3 or 4 WR on the depth chart.
